Niju, London

The design of Niju was conceived to compliment the food and skills of Endo Kazutoshi and his team. The subtlety of colours and textures were not to be overbearing, they are part of the theatre that is associated with Japanese cooking. Having worked with Endo San on his phenomenally successful Sumi Restaurant the team understand his desire for simplicity in design but one that exudes immense character.

The strength of this design is supplemented by the use of warm toned solid oak counters and feature pieces, back lit natural cane framed wall mirrors and wonderful lighting that combines subtle ambience with feature pendants. The colour palette is soft but bold, materials have natural tones and textures. The impact has resulted in all parts of the restaurant becoming immersive, visually, atmospherically and sensorily.
